Ben Lee ’26 Receives Prestigious Rosene Award
Ben Lee ’26 was named the recipient of the Thomas Albin Rosene Memorial Trophy by the St. Paul City Conference on Friday, February 6, recognizing him as the conference’s top male swimmer.
The Rosene Award is presented annually at the boys’ conference championship meet and honors the “finest” senior male swimmer in the St. Paul City Conference. Selection is determined by a ballot of conference head coaches and considers academic standing, citizenship, athletic excellence, and leadership.
A team captain for the Trojans, Lee has built an impressive resume throughout his high school career. He has earned All-Conference honors in 2023, 2024, and 2025, captured the conference championship in the 100 breaststroke in 2025, and qualified as a 6AA Sections finalist in both 2024 and 2025. Lee has also competed in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, along with key relay events including the medley relay and 200 free relay. Additional accolades include Trojans Rookie of the Year (2024), Most Improved (2023), and Most Valuable Swimmer (2025), along with being named a state alternate in 2024.
Beyond his results, Lee’s leadership and work ethic have defined his impact on the program. Head coach Stacy Overgaard praised Lee for setting the standard every day in practice.
“Ben leads the Trojans by his example,” Overgaard said. “He is the hardest worker, regardless of the type of set or the intensity of dryland. As a lane leader, he encourages his teammates to push through the ‘last one, best one.’ He stays late to work with peers on turns and technique, and he is genuinely excited when others improve. He is committed to elevating all Trojans and absolutely deserved this award.”
The Thomas Albin Rosene Memorial Trophy is one of the Saint Paul City Conference’s most prestigious honors, recognizing not only athletic performance but also character and leadership. Lee’s selection reflects his dedication to excellence in the pool, the classroom, and as a teammate.
Congrats Ben!
