2025-2026 Highlights

The Spartans put together a memorable 2025-26 season, finishing 20-8 overall and placing third in the IMAC. One of the winningest teams in program history, SPA built momentum throughout the winter and closed the regular season on an impressive nine-game winning streak heading into postseason play.

In the Section 4AA tournament, the Spartans opened with a strong victory over Nova Classical before advancing to face the No. 2 seed St. Croix Lutheran Academy in the semifinals. SPA battled in a competitive matchup but ultimately fell 66-73. | Bracket

The Spartans set a new school record with 21 made three-pointers in a single game, solidifying their reputation as one of the top three-point shooting teams in Minnesota. The 20-win season also marked the program’s second such achievement in the past three years.

Individually, Ezra Cunningham ’26 reached a major milestone, scoring his 1,000th career point during the season. Ben Sieben ’26 also earned significant recognition for his performance, being named Prep Hoops x Dr. Dish Player of the Week for his standout play and shooting.

Middle School Teams

Boys’ basketball defeated Nova 73-57 in the opening round of Section 4AA competition. They will play the #2 seed, St. Croix Lutheran, on Saturday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at St. Croix Lutheran.  | Bracket

This season was historic for the Spartan boys’ basketball team. Their record of 22-7 marked the winningest season in program history. The boys received the #1 seed in the Section 4AA tournament for the first time in over a decade thanks to a huge win over Minnehaha Academy in January, 86-66. They went on to defeat Concordia Academy and St. Agnes before falling short to Minnehaha in the Championship game on March 15th.

Other season highlights included three 1,000 point milestones reached by Mikkel Rawdon ‘24, Ethan Carter ‘24, and Tysen Hayes ‘24, and Coach of The Year recognition for Varsity Head Coach, Kevin Keto.

Spartan basketball received the #3 seed in Section 4AA and defeated the #6 seed, St. Croix Lutheran Academy in the opening round on Saturday, March 11. In the semifinals on March 14, SPA fell to a talented Concordia Academy team, 80-72.
