2025-2026 Highlights
Competing as a co-op with Highland Park Senior High School, the Trojans turned in a strong 2025-26 season highlighted by record-setting swims and academic success. Several athletes posted performances that now rank among the program’s top twenty times over the past two decades.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Kaya Cayci ’28, Sam Galarneault ’27, Ben Lee ’26, and Matti Halloran ’27 recorded a time of 1:47.15, ranking No. 10 in program history. Ben Lee’s 55.63 in the 100 Butterfly ranks fourth all-time, while the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Galarneault, Lee, Halloran, and Elijah Johnston (HP) posted a 1:34.89, ranking sixth. Additional top-ten marks included Cayci’s 1:05.98 in the 100 Backstroke (No. 10) and Galarneault’s 1:06.14 in the 100 Breaststroke (No. 7). Lee also led the team in scoring with 294.5 total points.
The team also excelled in the classroom, earning the Section Academic Silver Award, recognizing one of the top academic team GPAs in the state. Individually, Ben Lee ’26 received the Rosene Award from the St. Paul City Conference for outstanding athletic and academic achievement.

The Trojans finished their impressive, regular season campaign as the 2025 St. Paul City Conference Champions! The Section 6AA championship meet took place the weekend of February 28. Despite multiple personal bests, no student-athletes from SPA advanced to the State meet.

At the 6AA section finals on Saturday, February 24 Rishi Bhargava’ 24, Finn Cox ‘25, Ben Lee ’26, and Connor Overgaard ’24 had great performances finishing in the top 8 in multiple events. Rishi and Connor along with two swimmers from Highland High School advanced to State after swimming a record time in the 200 Medley Relay. Individual times include:Â
- Rishi Bhargava: 3rd in the 100 breaststroke; 4th in the 400 Freestyle Relay; and 10th in the 200 IM
Finn Cox: 8th in the 200 Freestyle Relay; 12th in the 200 IM; and 12th in the 100 backstroke
Ben Lee: 8th in the 200 Freestyle Relay; 10th in the 100 breaststroke; and 14th in the 100 butterfly
Connor Overgaard: 4th in the 400 Freestyle Relay; 5th in the 100 backstroke; and 7th in the 100 butterfly
At the State meet, Rishi and Connor along with two swimmers from Highland High School finished 22nd out of 23 teams in what was a competitive field.
