Lower School Athletics
Participation in interscholastic athletics can teach invaluable lessons. The Lower School Athletics Program offers a variety of sports clinics for students in grades 3-5 to participate in. The clinics occur 1-2 times per week at the Goodrich Campus after school from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday mornings.
The Sports Clinics are designed to give access and motivate children to play, regardless of their ability. Coaches focus on skill development, introducing team concepts, and an emphasis on having fun through participation and intrasquad competitions. As student-athletes progress through the Athletics program, they will;
- Gain sport-specific skills;
- Understand the ideals of good sportsmanship and how to be a part of a team;
- Teach social skills, communication, and teamwork;
- Develop a healthy self-concept, self-esteem, and healthier body;
- Build relationships amongst peers, as well as creating connections with the Upper School athletes and teams;
- Experience new things through participation and competition
Lower School sports offerings are listed below. All of these sports clinics are co-ed and open to any students in Grades 3-5, regardless of experience. For additional information on Lower School athletics, view our Sports Clinic Handbook or contact Director of Athletics, Paul Moyer.

Junior Spartan Program
This offering is for our youngest Spartans who are interested in seeing what it’s like to be a part of a Varsity program. It provides a great connection between the Lower School and Upper School communities and allows families to see what they can expect from their SPA athletics experience as their child progresses through the program.
Students in grades K-2 have the opportunity to become a Jr. Spartans at various Upper School athletic events, including; soccer, volleyball, hockey, and basketball. A member of the Athletic Department will reach out to Lower School families prior to each season with information on how to register.
