The Spartans claimed the Section 4A Championship and punched their ticket back to the Class A State Tournament for the fifth consecutive season on Friday, May 15. Now, SPA will look to continue its incredible run with a fifth straight state championship title on the line. | Section Bracket

Despite challenging windy conditions throughout the section tournament, the Spartans stayed composed and competed at a high level from start to finish. “I thought the team played very well in the tough windy conditions,” said head coach Jono Martin. “They were poised and focused from the start and competed hard in every match.”

The section title marks an impressive first season for Martin as head coach of the program and adds another chapter to the team’s already dominant stretch of success.

Up next, SPA will compete in the Section Singles and Doubles Tournament, with the first two rounds taking place Tuesday, May 19, followed by the semifinals and finals on Wednesday, May 20. | Individual Section Bracket

The Class A State Team Tournament will be held June 2-3, with the State Individual Tournament following on June 4-5.
